I am very excited to announce our latest project… ElectricFireplacesDirect has recently created a whole new category for Electric Grills just in time for summer.  We are offering electric grills for marine use (marine as in boats, not the armed forces, although they can be used by Marines as well), apartments, condos, backyards, tailgating – virtually anywhere.

The Electric Grills section of the website has turned out really well. The site is easy to navigate and with a lot of help from the manufacturers, we have many videos to offer as well.  You can actually watch how the grills perform with videos from: Kenyon, Dimplex, and Outdoor GreatRoom Company we also offer grills from Electri-Chef and hope to post a video from them soon.

We have added a information menu with green grilling, FAQs, Cleaning instructions, and Recipes.

Allow me to touch on the high points of Electric Grills.  If you are one of the growing number of Americans worried about the increase in various cancers, the obesity epidemic, and you have a raised awareness of environmental pollution, then keep reading, you may be surprised that electric grills offer great tasting grilled food but with much less mess, health risks, and pollution.

  • Electric grills reach up to 600 degrees. They sear in flavor and then cook thoroughly. Several options, such as the Cook Number grills by Outdoor GreatRoom Company, have a temperature gauge that you place in the meat and set how well done you want it and it automatically cooks it to the correct internal temperature.  Let’s say you’re cooking hamburgers and you want them medium rare – Insert the temperature gauge, set the dial to beef and how well you want it done, then it cooks it to the correct medium rare temperature.  The Cook Number grill also has a searing plate which is great for veggies.  You can be a vegetarian and still find a use for an electric grill.
  • Electric grills do not have a flame. Cooking without a flame eliminates the chance of grease flare ups which means you’ll never have charred food.  The charred parts are actually the cancer causing agents in our food. Researchers from the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) have
    linked the connection between unhealthy lighter fluid and charcoal
    residue deposits in food with colorectal and pancreatic cancer.
  • Electric grills can dramatically reduce gas and charcoal consumption. Take this into consideration: An estimated 60 million people light up their BBQs on the 4th of July –
    if half of the grills are charcoal, that is an estimated 30 million
    bags of charcoal and 15 million containers of lighter fluid. If the
    other 30 million cook on gas grills, that’s 30 million propane tanks
    all pumping gas into the air and food.
  • If you read the last post about bans against gas grills, then you know electric grills are perfect for apartment and condos. Plus, you can tailgate with an electric grill! We are in Alabama, (Saban country, Roll Tide!) I’m trying to convince the higher powers I need to take one down to the Alabama games to show them off.
