One major step that individuals can take to reduce the cost of their utilities is to practice the strategy of zone heating. Zone heating is a home heating strategy that focuses on warming the spaces of a home that are in use most often. Like many aspects of energy efficiency it requires consumers to be proactive about reducing their energy use. The most important element of zone heating is that consumers focus on where they spend the majority of time within their home.
